VIP and Loyalty Programmes: Points, Tiers and the Price of Turnover

Loyalty and VIP programmes reward players for turnover. Every euro staked earns points, points move you up tiers, and higher tiers bring rewards — bonuses, cashback, faster processing or a personal account manager. This page explains the logic. Whether a particular operator has a programme, and what it offers, is not something we state.

What a programme counts

Almost always turnover — the sum of your stakes — not profit or loss. A player who stakes €1,000 and wins gets the same points as one who stakes €1,000 and loses. Points often vary by game type: slots may earn more per euro than table games or short-odds bets.

What points are worth

It makes sense to judge a loyalty programme as a percentage of turnover. If €1,000 of stakes earns rewards worth €5, the programme returns 0.5% of turnover. At a 5% betting margin that cuts your expected loss from €50 to €45. A pleasant extra, not a reason to bet more.

€1,000€50€5−€45
€5,000€250€25−€225

Illustrative calculation. The real value of points depends on the programme.

Tiers and psychology

Tiers are built to motivate: “another €200 of turnover and you move up”. That moment is the risky one. Reaching a higher tier is never worth turnover you wouldn't otherwise bet. If the programme starts pulling you towards bigger deposits, consider whether you want to follow it at all.

Account managers and high-roller offers

Higher tiers often bring a personal contact — a manager offering individual bonuses. It helps to know that their job is to keep you active. Responsible operators do not lend money to players, and VIP status should never mean betting on credit. If anyone offers you such “credit”, treat it as a serious warning sign.

Limits apply to VIPs too

Deposit and loss limits and self-exclusion apply to every player regardless of tier. If you notice turnover rising because of points, that is exactly the situation these tools are for. Details on the Limits and self-exclusion page.

Other bonus types are in Bonuses.

The actual offer and its terms are set by the operator the button leads to — it is chosen by the affiliate network and may not be Tipsport. What counts is what the operator's terms say at the moment you accept a bonus.
